What is The Ram Nut Diet™ ?
The Ram Nut Diet™ is balanced, user-friendly program that uses the health benefits of nuts and the proven reliability of a weight loss consultant to help you achieve the weight loss that you only dreamed of - until now.

Who created The Ram Nut Diet™ ?
The Ram Nut Diet™ was created by Leonard J. Ram, MD. Dr. Ram is a board certified physician specializing in gastroenterology and board certified as a Physician Nutrition Specialist by the American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists.

How does the program work?
The Ram Nut Diet™ differs in that it isn’t divided into phases, which Dr. Ram believes causes confusion.

When a client begins the program, under the guidance of one of our weight loss consultants, we start by helping them establish goals and benchmarks. Clients meet with their weight loss consultant in person or by phone at least once a week.

On important component of the program involves journaling, where you record your food, exercise, attitudes and experiences on a daily basis. Journaling makes one aware of the small (and often forgotten) foods you consume.

The Ram Nut Diet™ encourages dieters to eat three meals a day, supplemented by snacks in between each meal. In an ideal diet program you should go no longer than three hours without consuming either a meal or a snack. (In fact, there is a newly popular diet book by Jorge Cruise called The 3-Hour Diet.). About 30 minutes before lunch and dinner, you may want to eat an ounce of raw or roasted nuts, along with a glass of water.

We don’t automatically encourage counting calories. We prefer to use portion control, and also ask you to slow down your pace of eating, taking at least 20 minutes to eat your meal from start to finish.

Is The Ram Nut Diet™ for everyone?
Potentially, The Ram Nut Diet™ is for everyone. Unless someone has an allergy to nuts or another medical condition prohibiting the diet, it can produce positive results for every person using the diet to achieve improved health and wellness. Many physicians feel that nuts are safe for persons with diverticular disease. Anyone with questions regarding whether they should not participate in The Ram Nut Diet™ should consult with their personal physician.
